Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Moosh LLC ("Moosh," "we," "us," or "our") handles personal information when you use the Moosh mobile application and this website. Moosh is currently offered only in the United States and is intended for adults age 18 and older.
Information we collect
- Account information: email address, account identifier, display name if provided, and an age-confirmation timestamp. Authentication credentials are handled by our authentication provider.
- Gift-planning information: names, relationships, birthdays, optional photo URLs, gift ideas, assignments, notes, product details, and links that you choose to save.
- Scan information: text or URLs you submit to identify a product, together with eligible source-page or social-content material retrieved to fulfill that request and resulting product suggestions.
- Offer information: the product query and limited shopping-offer details returned when you request offers.
- Service and security information: request, authentication, device/network, rate-limit, and error information generated when you use the service.
- Support and privacy correspondence: the information you send to our support or privacy email addresses.
How we use information
We use information to provide and secure the app; create and administer accounts; store and organize your gift ideas; process a scan or offer request you make; provide support; prevent abuse; comply with applicable obligations; and maintain or improve reliability. We do not use your information to sell personal information, serve targeted advertising, conduct cross-context behavioral advertising, or build advertising profiles.
When information is shared
We share information only as needed to operate a feature you request, comply with law, protect rights and safety, or complete a business transaction permitted by law. Our current service providers may include:
- Supabase for authentication, database hosting, and backend functions.
- Google Gemini to return a product-identification response to a scan request.
- ScrapeCreators, if enabled, to retrieve eligible social-source material for a scan request.
- SerpAPI, if enabled, to return shopping-offer information you request.
- Email providers for account messages and correspondence.
When you choose a source, retailer, or social link, Moosh opens it in your external browser. That third party handles information under its own terms and privacy practices. We do not sell products or process retailer payments.
Retention
We keep account, recipient, and saved gift information until you delete it or delete your account, unless a longer period is required for security, legal obligations, dispute resolution, or a documented backup lifecycle. New scan and share flows are designed not to retain the original submitted text or URL in a durable gift record. Legacy durable scan-source values are scheduled for expiry within seven days, and scan-job records are scheduled for deletion after 30 days.
Offer results are intended to be refreshed or removed after 24 hours. Service/security logs are minimized and retained under the documented operational schedule. Support and privacy correspondence is retained only as long as needed to resolve the request and meet applicable obligations. Provider retention may apply while a provider processes a request; we review enabled providers before launch.
Your choices and requests
You can review and change saved information in the app and delete your account from Me → Delete account. You may request access, correction, or deletion by emailing privacy@moosh.site. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. See Delete account for instructions.
California residents may have additional rights under applicable California privacy law. Moosh does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide any required choice mechanisms.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Keep your account credentials confidential and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.
Children and age restriction
Moosh is not directed to children or minors. You must be at least 18 to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has provided personal information.
Changes and contact
